Alison and Sharon gave us an insight into the Community Garden project at the Bridgend hub in Ty Pen Y Bont, 110 Merthyr Mawr Road which is for anyone who is interested in soil, seeding and socialising!
After the difficulties we have all experienced over the last few years, such a facility for enjoying the company of others is of great help for people’s wellbeing.
The fruit and vegetables grown grown are distributed to foodbanks and community pantries around Bridgend county.
Bridgend Rotary will be delighted to support this local initiative and provision of garden tools was discussed.
In addition to an excellent talk we had another highlight, the induction of Barrie Ball as a new member of Rotary Bridgend. We are delighted to welcome Barrie to our club and to meet his wife, Stephanie, who also attended the meeting.
