Last Autumn Rotary Bridgend with Pencoed Town Council planted over 500 Crocus corms in the town centre and the flower beds in St Davids Church to mark "Rotary End Polio Day ".
Purple is the marking used on children's pinky finger nails to show they have received the Polio vacine. The Mayor of Pencoed Tracey Lyddon and President William Williams visited the town centre to look at the display.
Other events took place across the Borough, including lighting up local landmarks with purple lights.
