Mike Lewis reports
It was a magnificent team performance with Bridgend scoring 59 points to Porthcawl's 21. I you consider that if a team answers all its questions correctly they score 60 points, then the achievement of gaining 59 points is quite magnificent.
To use a football analogy, Carwyn's performance up front was reminiscent of John Charles in his pomp; Laura's performance with deft touches and layoffs was like Laura McAllister in her prime; I'd like to think that my contribution was like Franz Beckenbauer - commanding and poised - but in reality has all the grace and balance of a horse on ice.
Another failure was in the Rotary Round, the graveyard round where usually both teams score 0. Unfortunately we managed to accumulate 8 points.
Overall victory was
achieved by a combination of knowledge and recall, inspired guesswork and sheer
luck.
We
now look forward to meeting Rotary Cowbridge in the Area 3 semi-final.
