On Wednesday 5 March 2025, Kirkcudbright Primary School hosted the Rotary Club’s Primary Schools’ quiz with four pupils each from Gatehouse, Twynholm, and Kirkcudbright schools and three from Auchencairn taking part. Quizmaster for the evening was Rotarian John Johnson, ex-headteacher at the former Johnston School in Kirkcudbright.
After eight rounds of challenging questions on a wide range of subjects, there was a thrilling finish with only half a mark separating the teams. The half mark that decided the result came in the observation round in which the teams were given a sheet of eighteen images to study briefly before answering questions related to the images. The excitement was palpable as the scores were read out and Twynholm Primary School declared the winners.
