On Tuesday 12 December, the Kirkcudbright Rotary organised a Kids Out visit for children with special needs to the Kirkcudbright Parish Players’ Pantomime “Simple Simon” in the Parish Church Hall. The audience over 30 Kids, Parents, Carers and Rotarians gave the company a live audience for their final Dress Rehearsal which set them up for the opening night on Thursday 14 December.
The Kids were first taken to Clann in Kirkcudbright for a light supper after which they strolled along to the Hall where they provided a very active and noisy audience. Ice cream was served in the interval and during the finale, the Kids joined in with the cast, dancing in front of the stage, as can be seen in the picture.
“Kids Out” is a nationwide Rotary Charity that supports clubs running Summer and Winter events for special needs children, giving them much needed breaks twice a year, and they clearly enjoyed their trip the see “Simple Simon”, which is a new Pantomime by Ian Cartwright based on the famous nursery rhyme.
