At the end of last term Kirkcudbright Rotary Club, working alongside Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities, organised a short story competition for its partner primary schools. Forty four young people submitted entries from which three winners were chosen.

Each young writer was presented with a £20 book voucher from Gallovidia Books whilst all entrants were given a goodie bag from the Cocoa-Bean Company,.
The competition was organised by Gerry Hassann, a recent recruit to Kirkcudbright Rotary Club, together with fellow Rotarians, Louise Finch and Paul Tebay. This new competition was funded jointly by Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities and Kirkcudbright Rotary Club.
The winning entries and a selection of other entrants work have been put on public display in St Cuthbert’s Church until Wednesday 17th August. The Church is open to all, each week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
