International Evening 2023

This year our theme country was India

Every year we hold an International Evening for club memmbers, partners and friends and each year we choose a different country as the theme, which helps to remind us that Rotary is an international organisation with clubs in almost every country in the world, enabling us to work together with them on humanitarian projects of mutual interest.

The event  on 14 March was held in the Indian Gymkhana, Osterley. The Indian Gymkhana Cricket Club (IGC Ltd)  was founded in 1916 and moved to its current location in 1920, with the help of the president of the MCC and many other worthies of the cricket world. The IGC Ltd has become a muli-racial centre where young and old can meet to play sports and foster goodwill between people across generations, so it was a very suitable venue for our Rotary gathering.

The lavish Indian meal was followed by a demonstration of Bolywood dancing, joined enthusiasically by our members and guests. We are very gratefull to Pooja Rana and Gayatri Shah for all their hard work in organising and making the event so suceesful.
