Update on our sponsored babies and their carers – One year on

Our sponsorship of three orphaned infants and their carers in Mwanza has now come to an end with the great news the youngsters are thriving and all three families are now self-supporting and living independently after following the one-year Marisha Matters programme of the charity Forever Angels.

This is the news we have we have just received from Amy Hathaway.

Grayson is doing incredibly well! When I look back on photos from when he was first referred to the Maisha Matters programme with his head wounds - he really is a beautiful and healthy toddler now. Grayson is walking, starting to say his first words and his Grandmother totally adores him. We have set his Grandmother up in a clothes market stall and it is going so well.  We initially supported her to have a clothes and handbag bundle which she sold from near her home. She did so well that she now has a market stall at the local market and is selling more expensive clothing including beautiful dresses, and she is doing wonderfully!

Faith and her Dad and siblings are doing so well. Her Dad's sewing business is really thriving and he is so happy to be able to support Faith and her siblings.  He is sewing dresses and suits and even school uniforms. Faith is meeting all her milestones and she is a beautiful healthy little girl - now crawling and standing up.

Edna and Edwina are healthy, beautiful girls.  They are doing so well in their Grandmother's care. We set their Grandmother up in a fruit and vegetable stall and she is doing great.  It is just outside her home so she is able to care for the girls whilst earning an income for her family and supporting the local community.  The girls are now eating a solid diet and have weaned off milk.
