How we support schools and young people in the New Malden area

Our Youth Team seeks to assist the enrichment of the students in our community by working with Primary, Secondary Schools and Youth Groups in our community.

We provide access to District and National Rotary Competitions.

New Malden, Kingston and Surbiton Rotaries co-sponsored a borough-wide Art Competithrough New Malden Rotarytion involving many of our local children at primary and secondary school level,  The competition, on an environmental theme, was judged by Elliot Newton, Kingston’s Bio-Diversity Officer, with the final presentation of prizes held at The Rose Theatre.

New Malden Rotary have supported Coombe Boys' School drama productions and helped with the visit of John Agard, the inspiring and award winning poet, as part of their Poetry Day celebrations.  And we supported Coombe Girls' School for their House Music Competition.  We were also pleased to assist Corpus Christi School with their fundraising  for the Forest School Project.

New Malden Rotarians regularly conduct mock interviews for year 12 students at Richard Challoner School in the Spring Term.

We support the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) scheme by sponsoring students to attend the five day course at High Ashurst Activity Centre in Dorking, usually in August.  RYLA is a leadership development programme for teenagers and young adults.  Potential candidates are invited to apply to New Malden Rotary.  See the sub-page on the right for more details.

We continue to develop relationships with all our schools in order to assist them in any way we can,
