No excuses as our valiant team of Carol, John, Jim and Chris are comprehensively beaten in the first round of the District Ten Pin Bowling Competition at Hollywood Bowl Tolworth on Monday 24 November.
The defeat came even though Jim confided in me, at the joint meeting with Ewell, that he had gone there and practised a few days before. Honestly Jim you should know me by now.
Confession time. I was the worst player in our team but I do get to write the report. This means I can ignore the first paragraph and turn to the excuses.
Once our team got to grips with the rules and understood the aim is to knock the skittles over and not try to avoid them at all costs we did start to run up a bit of a score but sadly this was not enough to overtake our opponents.
Moving on to the opponents we were in fact playing against two teams, Addiscombe and Shirley, so it was no surprise we lost. Also I think they must have had a lever in their lane which tilted our lane after our ball was in motion sending it into the gutter.
We discussed making an objection but it was getting late and we decided to go home instead.
Good luck to Epsom B.
