The Allotment at Epsom Common Allotments
Some very dedicated members of the Team, spend much time ensuring that seeds are sowed, things are growing well, watered, and looked after, and always making improvements around the site and as you can image this is an ongoing project set up to provide foods to the local foodbank, and benefit Epsom Pantry. The project has been running for some years now, jointly with Ewell Rotary.
Our allotment currently consists on the main plot with mostly raised beds, and greenhouse, a borrowed area transformed into a marrow patch, the plot next door, consisting of mature apple trees, and recently taken on half a plot which is in the process of being excavated, to house a polytunnel, which has now been purchased, thanks to club funds and further work undertaken to get the site where this will be placed undertaken yesterday and up to that date.
During the week, however, crops are picked and taken to the pantry, with contributions by other plot holders at Epsom Common Allotments and the pictures show a very colourful and healthy crop.
