Good evening
At District Council on Saturday, I was delighted to announce that 18 Clubs in our District had been awarded an End Polio Appreciation Certificate for 2023-24. The certificate is awarded to Clubs who donate over $1,500 to the Rotary Foundation for End Polio Now.
A list of the 18 Clubs is shown below. This was an increase on 11 Clubs the previous year and is particularly welcome as the cases of Polio have increased this year as detailed in the District Foundation Chair Charles Crane’s report to Council. All the monies donated were trebled by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Thank you again to you and your Club members for supporting The Rotary Foundation and helping the drive to rid the world of Polio.
I have attached the photo of the presentation made to the 10 Clubs present on the day taken by John Gilroy-Smith.
If your Club was not present in person at District Council and has not yet been visited by DG Tim, he will present your certificate at his visit. If he has already visited, please contact me to arrange to receive your certificate. The certificate for New Malden has been passed to Kingston upon Thames for delivery
With best wishes
Annemarie
