PARTY IN THE PARK
Months of planning and organisation went into the the event, PARTY IN THE PARK celebrating the 100th anniversary of Epsom Rotary Cub, with a view to giving back to the community and sharing a monumental milestone, all taking place at Rosebery Park in very much the centre of Epsom.
The event was free to attend, with free entertainment in many different forms throughout the day.
There was a outstanding main stage which a professional sound system which provided music and entertainment as outlined in the programme and hosted events from performers - Alyza Jack, Ukrainian Brass Quartet, Kingwood House School, duo from Archie XN and Alyza, Epsom Men's Choir, Bingo, Disney Sing-along, Rosebery School Performers, Prestige Performers. Seating areas were provided and alongside the food stands tables for people also to enjoy the entertainment. Bingo was a great hit and many of the other performances, diverse and very entertaining.
Rides for which there were separate charges levied, organised by "Billy" which proved very popular with children and families and were very well attended and provided greater enjoyment, to include the teacup ride, mini bumper cars, a roller coaster, merry go rounds, trampolines etc bringing a colourful, and vibrant addition to the event.
Arena events were also hosted - to add a variety of further additions and there included a display and drum workshop by Drumz, a dance performance by Ambition Dance, and further display by Protegem Dance, and the colourful Lion Dance display by Nam Yang, who started the dance at the stage and had followers to the arena and who then performed weapon and other routines, with some kick boxing.
Over the other side of the pond hosted entertainment in the Activity Area - mostly sponsored by BID and including Punch & Judy, Anton Circus show, Angie Mack Show - with spectacular hoop tricks,
Display and the Rotary 100 Year Celebration Stand immaculately put together by Anne Richardson who depicted 100 years of the Club on various boards was welcoming and brought attention as to why the event was held. Alongside that was a Shelter Box tent and around other stands with activities by various local charities to include Love Me Love my Mind, Age Concern Epsom, Tree Advisory Board, Surrey Stands with Ukraine, Mayor's Charities, Epsom & Ewell Twinning, Rotary Club of Ewell, Epsom & Ewell Refugee Network and others.
The weather was great - which certainly added to the success of the event and overall a fair estimate of footfall is around 2-3K. What an exhilarating success, of course very much because of our most wonderful sponsors - Epsom Digital, Ashley Centre, Epsom Square, Prestige Butchers, BID, Epsom & Ewell BC for access to the Park, and Vintage Pawn Brokers.
The feedback was massive and extremely positive - everyone clearly had a great time "Its great to have such a friendly community event happening in the town centre" "It's what Epsom Needs".
