Thank You letter from Dyscover

Dear Veronica and Jim,

Thank you so much for the donation of £768 from the Rotary Club of Epsom, following our request to you for funds towards 2 new laptops in order for us to deliver our essential services to people with aphasia, via, a now remote service – it is extremely welcome in these current uncertain and unprecedented times and will certainly give our therapists a good advantage with up-to-date technology at their fingertips.

As you may know we had many strategic plans to develop our services this year following our 25^th Anniversary and Queens Award for Voluntary Service honors last year,  especially our Outreach services which we had wanted to expand further and reach out to as many people as possible with aphasia, particularly those with transport difficulties and were due to pilot our ‘Home Visiting’ service in March but have had to halt plans due to Covid-19.

In a strange twist of fate developing our expertise in delivering our Speech and Language Therapist led services via on-line video conferencing platforms will help further develop these plans, however at the same time we are faced, like may other charities, with huge financial challenges in this uncertain time which requires us to try to stay ‘afloat’ and I will do all I can to try to secure funds to enable us to continue to offer our services which are un-matched across the UK.
