On behalf of everyone at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, I would like to thank you for supporting us with a gift of £506.25 for us to purchase oxygen cylinders. Your donation is helping us through these incredibly tough times.
COVID-19 has already had a devastating impact on the delivery of our vital services – we have had to take the difficult decision of closing one of our hospices and have reduced the level of care that we can currently provide. The virus has also left us with no choice but to close our retail shops and the cancelling of fundraising events has had a huge impact on our fundraising income. We are predicting a shortfall of more £2million as a result of COVID-19, so now more than ever we’re relying on the generosity of the public to help us to pull through, so your donation really does mean the world to us.
With the increasing pressure that the NHS is under, our vital hospice service for those most vulnerable in our community is needed now more than ever. Quite simply, without us, the families we support will have nowhere left to turn.
I can’t thank you enough for supporting us at this time of great worry and uncertainty, it really does mean so much right now.
I sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are keeping safe and well. Thank you once again for helping us to continue to provide our vital services to so many babies, children and families that face the unimaginable.
With very best wishes,
Jane De Lay
