Young Musician Regional Final 2019

Oliver Simpson from District 1090 and Annie McCrystal from District 1145 were the winners. Jasmine Bingham from Epsom was second.

Unfortunately Jasmine Bingham only made second place in the Regional voice final. She was on top form and highly praised but was closely challenged by a young lady with a similar programme and style. We were convinced that Jasmine had the edge but the judges thought otherwise. It did take them an hour to reach a conclusion so it was obviously a close run thing.

In the instrumental section our District gained a second with Daniel Pengelli on the flute, beaten by some incredible Shostakovich on the Cello by Oliver Simpson from District 1090. Annie McCrystal also from District 1145 gave a fine performance on the piano.

In fact all contestants gave a good account of themselves and it as a very satisfactory afternoon.
