Donation of Bicycle Ambulances to AMECA Clinic catchment villages..........
Thank you to The Rotary Club of Epsom for the grant, enabling us to
purchase 3 bicycle ambulances for the furthermost villages in our clinic
catchment area. These ambulances will be used to transport women in
labour, the elderly and infirm to our clinic at Chilaweni. If they are successful we will get 8 more!
The
ambulances were locally made by the Dutch company Sacarementa in
Blantyre; Sacaramenta provided instruction and training in maintenance
and driving for the communities.
A really joyous afternoon for Paul
Thomas and I, together with the clinic staff and beneficial community
chiefs and committee members. Rain covers well tested in the downpour!!
Thank you Epsom Rotary for making this possible.
