Books4Home

We held an impact day in Ancrum Primary for the books4home project.

putting stickers onto the donated books ready for the children to choose which to take home

The Rotary Books4Home project takes good quality pre-read books and puts them into schools to find a new home. Donated books are checked by the school's teachers for suitability and displayed in a special book case. Children can select the book that they want to take home and keep forever. This means that children who may not other wise own a book will have something of their own, and it rescues any book at risk of becoming landfill. What's not to like!

We are working with Ancrum primary, and last friday we saw many happy children look through the books and each one took their favourite home.

We are very fortunate to have such creative friends in the JedShed who upcycled a child's cot into the most wonderful bookcase and display cabinet that nestled beautifully in the corner of the school entrance lobby.
