DONATION TO PURLEY FOOD HUB

13 December 2023

At our Christmas Lunch on 12 December, members kindly donated food items for the Purley Food Bank.

Our donations were delivered on 13 December 2023, following which we received the following message:

Please find attached our Thank You Certificate from Purley Food Hub to the Rotary Club of Croydon in grateful recognition of everyone’s kind and generous support in collecting food donations for us this Christmas/New Year.

As you know, at the Food Hub we provide three-day emergency food parcels to local families in crisis, and during December alone we delivered food for 5,850 meals to 650 clients and family members.

It was our biggest-ever monthly total and took us past 335,000 meals for 37,000 people since we opened in 2013.

It is directly because of the amazing support we receive from community organisations such as yourselves and other Rotary Clubs, as well as churches, schools, businesses and many individuals and families, that - together - we can make a real difference to clients and their families currently facing real hardship.

And this support means that we can continue to be here for people in crisis for as long as there continues to be a need.

We hope you may be able to bring the Certificate to the attention of all your Croydon Rotary members.

With our warmest thanks again, and our best wishes to you all for 2024,

Steve Hunt
