Wednesday 8 June 2022 was a fantastic day out for the children from Red Gates Special Needs School and Norbury Manor Primary School Deaf Unit we sponsored at Chessington World of Adventure (CWOA). We had some cancellations on the day so in the end we had 60 children from Red Gates and 4 from Norbury Manor. The weather stayed good apart from a short shower.
Unfortunately there was a big problem with the Rides Passes as Chessington World of Adventure (CWOA) had changed to a digital system with the passes in theory accessed through a smart phone but with a maximum of 12 passes per smartphone, so you can imagine the logistics with Red Gates and their anticipated total of over 130 children and carers attending. Our schools and many others had applied online but had not had any response and so I spent most of Tuesday through Alan Knight, our Rotary orgnaiser, trying to sort this out. In the end we heard on Tuesday evening that CWOA were reverting to wristbands which were distributed on Wednesday morning at Chessington. Hopefully they will stick to wristbands for next year.
The children, staff and carers from both schools thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, and have written emails of thanks, printed below..
So all in all it was a successful day and hearing from the schools how much they enjoyed the day really makes it all very worth while.

MESSAGES OF THANKS
Dear Adrian,
Thank you to yourself and the rest of the Rotary club for organising a fantastic day out for us all. The kids and staff all had a really lovely day. Some of the pupils have made cards that we would love to send as a thank you for everything. Is there an address I could send them to.
Thanks again! I hope you got to put your feet up and relax today.
