BEATING THE BOUNDS

With Dr Ben Clifford
09 November 2021

Over the course of lockdown, Dr Ben Clifford, an intrepid geographer, managed to complete the 'beating of the bounds' and discover the fascinating history of our parish and civic boundaries stretching back to Saxon times.

The photograph above is an old coal tax post, found at the entrance to Little Farleigh Common, one of many boundary markers around Croydon.
