No. It wasn’t an attempt to answer the question “What came first, the chicken or the egg”. It was an eggciting evening of general, and not so general, knowledge questions.
Frederick Kirkman, a member of Gainsborough Rotary Club, was once again Quizmaster at our Zoom quiz on 09 October 2020.
On this occasion he was joined by Gainsborough Rotary Club President, David Cowell, and several club members. We were also delighted to welcome the Croydon Soroptimists and Rotary family members and friends.
This online quiz gave us a great opportunity to join, in fellowship, with Gainsborough Rotary Club and provide an opportunity for our own club members and friends to socialise across the ether before the quiz began.
The winner of the quiz, with an eggcellent score, was Grace Onions from the Croydon Soroptimist Club. Grace has attended several of our quizzes and was guest speaker at the first Club Zoom meeting of the new year. Grace was congratulated on her new appointment as President of the Soroptimist South East England Region.
There were no losers, or bad eggs, as everyone had a good time.
Thanks to Croydon Club member, Stephen Kirkman, for organising the event and for keeping the scores.
(Note from Stephen: “Even though I was runner-up, I promise, as a good Rotarian, that the scores were kept accurately.”)
Meanwhile, if we are still ‘Zooming’ in the Spring, we hope to hold another quiz and maintain our friendship with the Rotary Club of Gainsborough.
Finally, a big “Thank you” to everyone who joined in the quiz. We also managed to raise some important funds towards the President’s charity, the Crisis Skylight Centre in Croydon.
