On her campaign to reduce the use of plastic

Long before it became fashionable, Grace Onions, a member of the Croydon Soroptimist Club, has been rejecting plastic carrier bags.

In July 2019, Grace spoke with the manager at the store where she does her weekly shop, who agreed that she could start her campaign.

She collected all the recyclable plastic from the customers (see photograph) and was met with positive responses from both customers and staff.
