On 29 September 2019, members, partners and friends of Croydon Rotary Club were at the newly refurbished Fairfield Halls, Phoenix Concert Hall, for a Charity Gala Concert performed by the Croydon Symphony Orchestra, Croydon Philharmonic Choir, East Surrey Choral Society and the Festival Chorus. Two soloists also performed. Soprano, Alexandra Stevenson and Violinist, Joo Yeon Sir.
The first part of the programme included many favourites by Walton, Handel, Parry, Vaughn Williams and Holst. The second half included those by Arnold, Delius, Sullivan, Elgar, Coates and Wood. The performance concluded with songs from the proms accompanied with balloons and flags and audience participation.
A fantastic night of fellowship and enjoyment.
Thanks to club member, Bernard Adams, for organising this event.

The concert was in aid of the Elizabeth Foundation, the Wave Trust, Croydon, the Diamond Riding Centre, Carshalton, and the Garwood Founation.
