Orin Lewis OBE spoke about ACLT (African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust) a leading blood cancer charity, founded in 1996 by Orin and his wife Beverley De-Gale OBE, parents of former leukaemia sufferer Daniel De-Gale who was the first Black Britain to receive an un-related stem cell transplant in the UK.
Daniel attended Broadmead Junior School and Archbishop Tenison’s Secondary School but died at the age of 21.
The charity was set up by Daniel's parents to save lives through bone marrow, blood and organ donation. It encourages people to join the stem cell, blood and organ donor registers through ACLT. Further details of the charity can be found at info@aclt.org, www.aclt.org or the ACLT Facebook page.
