Lunch at THE RETREAT, STAINES, Sunday 11th February 2024
We had an enjoyable 2 course lunch meal at the Retreat in Laleham Road, Staines, to celebrate the New Year and to also to thank all those volunteers who had assisted us over the Christmas period in our house to house collection with our new re-modelled Float.
We are always very grateful to those organizations and individual helpers who turn out and pound the streets knocking on doors for contributions to our local charities. This helps to consolidate the efforts that the Rotarians all put into this busy period of time not only with the Float collection but also on our static collections which we are able to have outside Tesco on the Ashford Hospital site. We are always grateful to Tesco for allowing us to collect at the store on several weekend days prior to the Christmas break. Ashford has expanded over the years with many new housing developments so the challenge to try and visit everywhere, so that the Children can all see Father Christmas becomes more daunting year on year.
The lunch was an opportunity to thank all these people for their efforts over December and to present everyone with a Certificate documenting our great appreciation from all of the Members of the Ashford Club.
