This was held at the Hare and Hounds Public House in Vicarage Road, Sunbury commencing at 7.00p.m for a 7.30p.m start We were very fortunate and grateful that Barrie our quizmaster who arranged the questions for our last quiz held last year at St Matthews Church Hall was available to set and supervise with his friend Roger a varied question quiz for this event.
This was a new venue for us and we were very grateful for the help of Donald and all his staff who helped to make this a successful event and also donated some additional prizes for the evening.
We found more people attending than had been expected so we had to re-arrange tables and chairs accordingly and the area was fully occupied.
The charge was only for the quiz as people attending could purchase drinks, bar snacks, etc during the evening and as such an intermission halfway through the quiz was not necessary.
Barrie had set us 8 rounds of 10 questions so that we could complete the quiz by 10.00p.m and then award the prizes so that people could leave at a reasonable time.
In addition we had two further sheets of questions on the table one of which was a picture quiz of photographs of many well know actors and film stars when they were children.
We had four prizes and additional prizes for the table quiz which people could complete during the evening.
We had some very positive feedback as most people found the questions attemptable and the scores were very much within the amounts that Barrie and Roger were expecting and the prizes were well received.
It was an enjoyable social fun evening where people could interact with one another, as most teams were four or six participants. We were very grateful to all those who contributed to this charity event for the Penrose Club.
We are now planning to have an 80’s night and possibly another quiz a little later in the year when hopefully the weather will be warmer and sunnier.
