The Remembrance Service around the Ashford War Memorial was attended by Members of Ashford Rotary with the President and the President Elect. The weather was fine and there was a very large attendance. People it seems are more aware at this time of all the conflict in the world. Ukraine continues to be at war with Russia and the Israel is locked in a war with Hammas not to mention the unrest in so many parts of Africa.
Anthea, our president and Gordon our incoming president for next year 2024 laid a wreath at the war memorial along with members of many other local organizations.
The whole ceremony was organized by Ashford Wide who did an amazing job in having everything go so smoothly. All the younger people from the local organizations, the Scouts, the Guides, the Brownies and the tiny Rainbows to mention just a few were exemplary and must have practised their routines diligently to make such a perfect display.
