The Business Meeting of Hawick Rotary on 16th April saw members discuss and make arrangements for upcoming events.
First up is the Quiz in the Evergreen Hall on Friday 8th May, at 7. for 7.30. This Quiz is to raise funds to support the local Club's work with Hawick's schools. At High School, competitions for Young Artist, Young Chef, Young Musician and Young Photographer take place each year and winners receive certificates and cash prizes, with their work often going on to District Finals, There is also a Primary Schools Quiz. Rotarians take part in mock interviews for senior students. This year also a donation was made to help Biology students visit Edinburgh Zoo as part of their course.

Then, on Saturday 17th May, the Annual Coffee Morning takes place, again at Evergreen Hall, between 10 am and noon. There will be cake and candy, and bottle stalls and all are welcome. This event will raise funds for international humanitarian charities.
Meanwhile the Club's participation in the international Lend With Care project continues to thrive. Recently five more loans have been made to small businesses across the world, helping to support families and provide employment. Since Hawick Rotary began to make these loans, 178 have been made, amounting to £7,323, and 137 of these have been fully repaid.
