On 5th February, George Hogg hosted a Domino Tournament. This was fought good-naturedly between all of the members present and the outcome was a win for George Thorburn over Scott Elliot. George Hogg distributed prizes generously to all who had taken part.
On that day also, Aiden Stewart, the winner of Young Chef 2025-26 at Hawick High School, travelled to Kilmarnock for the District 1320 Final. He was unplaced but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Once again thanks are expressed to Head of Home Economics Kirsty Ritchie and to Departmental staff member Victoria Lowrie for their great input to this competition. Kirsty reports: 'Aiden enjoyed the experience and has loved coming back and sharing his experience with the staff and his peers. He struggled slightly with the new environment of the industrial kitchen and the different ovens but managed to serve both courses on time. The judges gave him some great feedback and he is keen to take part next year. We at Hawick High School really enjoy working with the Rotary and running this competition'.
