Business Meeting

The Rotary meeting on 20^th November began with the happy occasion of presenting a cheque for £300 to Maria Walker of Fresh Start Borders. This had been raised by our Flix in the Stix Film Night at Denholm's Village Hall the previous Saturday when a full house saw the Robert De Niro film The Alto Knights. Fresh Start Borders is a charity that helps people in the Scottish Borders who have been homeless and are moving into a permanent tenancy. It's hoped that we will be hearing more about their work from a representative of the organisation at a meeting in December.

After our meal, a Business Meeting of the Club considered ongoing projects such as Mock Interviews at the High School, the Lend With Care scheme, and a range of current activities in the town which might be supported by donations from our Charity Account.
