President Iain Smith invited members and guests to the Club's annual President's Night at Mansfield Park Clubrooms on Friday 25th October. Over 50 attended and were treated to a fine meal by Deborah Brown Catering and to musical entertainment afterwards from Joyce Tinlin and Michael Aitken. There was plenty of opportunity for conversation with local friends and supporters and with representatives of other clubs in Galashiels, Jedburgh and Langholm and the wider 'Borderlands Passport Group'. Iain Smith presided over the evening and after welcoming the company and talking of the Club's current involvements he welcomed the Rotary District's Assistant Governor Brenda Waugh from Annan to speak to the group.
This was a most enjoyable and social evening, and was drawn to a close by a Vote of Thanks from Vice President Mairhi Trickett.
The raffle on the night raised over £400 for the charity Operation Zambia, based in Darnick, Melrose.
