Hawick Rotary held a Business Meeting at their get-together on 19th September. This included looking back at the Afternoon Tea Party which had been held at The Auld Kirk at Cavers the previous Sunday and which had raised around £500 for Burnfoot Community Futures.
A very happy part of the meeting however was to welcome Dr George Thorburn as a new member of Hawick Rotary. George, a son of the late, very well known local figure Jock Thorburn, and his wife Karin have moved back to Hawick, and have very quickly taken part in Club activities. President Iain Smith welcomed George and handed over a Welcome Pack.
