On Sunday 15th September, members and friends attended an Afternoon Tea Party at Rotarian Jane Cox's house, The Auld Kirk, at Cavers. Around 40 people helped to raise funds for Burnfoot Community Futures. The sun shone, entertainers Kenny Spiers, John Nichol and Tommy Mulvee sang, a raffle was held, and visitors also took the opportunity to look around the old graveyard, noting reference for example to the Leyden family including the famous John who died at Java in 1811. President Iain Smith thanked Jane for her hospitality and the others who had contributed to the success of the afternoon.
