The local heat of the Rotary Young Chef competition was held at Hawick High School. Seven S4 students took part on the day. They were required to produce a healthy two course meal and then plate it up and serve to the three judges, Anthony Al-Khoury of Night Safe, Mary Beck and Rotarian President Ron Smith. The winner was Aiden Whellans, second was Casey Graham and Very Highly Commended was Eva Douglas. The setting was in the style of TV's Masterchef. President Ron expressed the thanks of Rotary to the School's Home Economics staff who had helped the students prepare for the challenge.
