A very successful introduction to Petanque on the village green in Denholm! Hawick Rotarians tried their hand at this continental sport and came away enthusiastic for a return. Twelve members took part, in teams of three, and the winners were Sandy Bannerman, Iain Smith and Tony Warburton. Runners up were Scott Elliot, Ron Smith and Mairhi Trickett.
The event was organised by member, and Denholm resident, Tommy Mulvee, and a fine trophy had been made by Tony Warburton.
Afterwards members enjoyed a lovely meal at the Auld Cross Keys Inn beside the green.
