On 21st April five Hawick Rotarians attended the Langholm Club's President's Night, an enjoyable evening at the Eskdale Hotel chaired by President Frank Steele and with entertainment by Billy Young. On 27th, at our normal venue at Mansfield House Hotel, there was a Business Meeting followed by a most enjoyable Domino Tournament won by George Hogg.
The following day, Rotarians Mairhi Trickett and Judy Tyler, and Eileen Smith were at Hawick High School to judge Rotary's Young Artist Competition. The theme for this year was 'Black & White' and, from a simply splendid selection of artwork, the judges chose pieces by Macy Casson and Niamh Casson as first and second in the Senior (S4,5,6) age group and by Alicia Blaszczyk and Ala Punsek as first and second in the Intermediate (S1,2,3) age group. Prizes were awarded to each of these artists. The winning pictures go forward to the Area Finals at Eyemouth in September.
Attached are photos of the judging event.
On Sunday 30th April, Rotarian Gus Neilson represented the Club at a Clean-Up of the central area of town. Photos also attached!
Advance notice is given of the Club's Coffee Morning at Trinity Church Hall on Saturday 13th May from 10 until 12. Admission is £2 and proceeds will go to help with Escape Youth Cafė's Summer Programme
