Hawick's Rotarians met recently in the upstairs Function Room at The Queens Head on High Street for an Open Evening. They welcomed thirteen guests to a Cheese & Wine Evening aimed at letting others know more of what Hawick Rotary actually does. Throughout the evening a Powerpoint presentation scrolled through with details of the Club and of what it does to support local and international groups and charities, while recently retired paramedic Ian Lowes also spoke of his career and of the changes he had seen over his working life. Questions followed what had been a most interesting talk.
Comment was particularly made on the high quality of the cheese and nibbles spread provided by The Queens Head, which had contributed to a most enjoyable and friendly evening.
It is of course hoped that new members will join Hawick Rotary and anyone not present at the event but who would like to find out more about the Club and perhaps come along to a meeting should e-mail secretary@hawickrotary.com.
