Presentation of Lego set to Wilton School pupils

On 24th May, President Scott Elliot and Secretary Ron Smith visited Wilton Primary School to hand over Lego materials for pupils.

This had been initiated earlier in the year when Lindsay Brady from Wilton's staff contacted Ron by e-mail to query whether a donation would be available to allow pupils to obtain Lego for their 'Lego Club'. This was followed up by supporting letters being written to Ron by three pupils Caitlin, Dylan and Scott. Miss Brady then indicated which Lego set the pupils hoped to obtain. The request was considered by Rotary members who agreed this could be funded, using a donation which had been received from the family of Honorary Member Jock Thorburn, which had been indicated was to be for the benefit of young people.
