On 27th August, President George Hogg welcomed Mrs Shona Murray, Pastoral Teacher at Hawick High School with responsibility for S6 and the five members of the Pupil Heads Team – Erin Cowan, Marley Domingo, Olek Raczynski, Freya Traynor and Beau Walker. The Heads team each year visit Hawick Rotary to give them experience in mixing with strangers and talking of their ambitions and their plans for the future.
This year's team gave an excellent account of themselves, speaking without notes and each telling members of their strengths and their interests. While one or two are still undecided as to future courses and careers, others spoke of hopes within the fields of sports and medicine.
The students were excellent representatives of Hawick High School and it is hoped that opportunities will arise over the year when they can work alongside the local Rotarians.
They then fielded questions from members before Ron Smith gave a most complimentary vote of thanks.
