Hearing Dogs for Deaf people
At the District Conference the small Charity Hearing Dogs for the Deaf captured the audience interest with a demonstration of their work with dogs. Dogs are trained to hear door bells and telephones and respond to other emergencies and alert their deaf owners. Thaining costs £5000 per dog and so far the District's Clubs have raised enough funds for a dog - this includes a donation from the Tower Hamlets Rotary Club. The club has suggested the name "London" for the dog. Further funds are needed.
