Prof Dr Omar Hammond-Gallego, Assistant Professor in Public Policy at the School of Government and International Affairs at Durham University.

We welcomed our speaker Prof Dr Omar Hammond-Gallego, Assistant Professor in Public Policy at the School of Government and International Affairs at Durham University. The topic of his talk was 'Is it possible to the Immigration Policy right?'.

Dr Omar Hammoud-Gallego gave a presentation on how the UK government is trying to address the challenge, what can be learnt from social science research and how to try to tackle the small boat issue.

Immigration is a crucial issue worldwide that dominates the public debate and political parties policies. It can be a very emotive subject creating divisions and polarising public opinion.

It was interesting to analyse the current situation using data and recent evidence based research and discuss possible solutions.

Certainly, the evening gave a lot of food for thought for those present.

We were delighted to induct Prof Brunello Rosa as a new member of our club.
