Dictionary 4 Life books donated to children at two local schools
Our Rotary Club supports the Dictionary 4 Life-Project and has donated books to schools nearby. The project is part of RI's emphasis on Literacy to encourage "children to widen their vocabularies and improve their life chances".
On Friday 29 June 2012 we visited Randal Cremer Primary School in Hoxton and St. John The Baptist Primary School in Shoreditch, where we handed out copies of the The Usborne Illustrated Dictionary to about 700 children. The head teacher, the staff and the children were very happy to receive the books, which will be kept in the class rooms to enhance their studies.
