News about our contact club

The Rotary Club of Montauban, the first club created in Tarn et Garonne, one of the top ten in Midi-Pyrénées, was created on June 2, 1947; the club was chartered on January 11, 1948.

The Club is in District 1700 which extends over eleven departments (Midi-Pyrénées plus the Pyrénées Orientales, Aude and Hérault). This District is one of the largest of the 19 metropolitan districts. It includes the largest number of Clubs (93) and has the largest number of Rotarians (2,764).

The twenty founding members of the Montauban Club represented the business world of the post-war period and that of the liberal professions. The first President was Albert BREMANT, industrialist.

By 1954 the Club had 30 members and its membership has since varied between thirty and fifty members.

In 2006, at the request of the District, members of the Club founded a second Club in Montauban under the name of "Rotary-club of Montauban-passion".
