Brentford's Golden Mile - remembering the past of our club's future

Our histories are intertwined. James Marshall of Hounslow Local History Society will remind us of the history of this iconic road.
The Golden Mile London project is a £7.5 billion, 15-year masterplan led by the London Borough of Hounslow to transform a 4km stretch of the Great West Road through Brentford, Osterley, and Chiswick into the world's largest creative tech innovation district.
Housing and Jobs: Plan promises to deliver up to 14,000 new homes and 25,000 new jobs by 2041.
Economic Boost: Promising to anchor £5 billion in Gross Value Added (GVA) and builds on an area already hosting major employers like Sky, Warner Bros. Discovery, and JCDecaux.
Skills and Innovation Hub: Partnering with the University of West London to launch a flagship hub supporting local start-ups and upskilling residents.
Infrastructure and Environment: Promising to improve active travel, green the A4 and River Brent corridors, and integrate with the proposed West London Orbital railway.
