Along with more routine club announcements from office bearers, Ronnie Nicol, Chair of the International Committee, advised members that the International Committee had finally been able to implement a decision taken last Summer to participate in a new kind of international aid.
The Club is now a member of the international micro-lending scheme operated by the Lend With Care charity and sponsored by the Co-operative Bank. The idea is that small loans are made to individuals in underdeveloped countries to enable them to sustain and grow their means of living. As the loans are repaid the capital may be loaned out again by the club if desired. The club earmarked
