Jannine’s life was changed when, as a serving police officer, she was selected as a Rotary Group Study Exchange Team Member to Texas in 1989.
Rotary has been a key part of her life ever since and she has served in various positions at club, district, GB&I and globally.
Last Rotary year she was delighted to be selected as one of 40 or so Empowering Girls Ambassadors appointed by RI President Shekhar Mehta globally. This role within GB&I complements her role as the Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Specialist with many synergies between the two. This Rotary year RI President Jennifer Jones is continuing the Empowering Girls initiative and Jannine is again the GB&I Empowering Girls Ambassador.
Jannine is excited about the opportunities the Empowering Girls initiative gives to clubs and districts to enhance the relevance, impact and sustainability of their existing projects and new ones. She sees this as entirely relevant to people of all genders and ages where we can have an impact in ensuring that half of humanity has half the opportunity.
