About our club

The Rotary Club of Barkingside was founded in 1951 by 25 local businessmen, professionals, and community leaders. The Rotary Club of Redbridge was founded in 1981 as a siter club. Over the years both clubs met weekly but separtely in various sites of the London Borough of Redbridge, but have frequently worked together endeavouring to serve the community through various local projects.

The two clubs also worked with other clubs form different parts of the world as well as with international organizations that promote the Rotary values of promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, saving mothers and children, growing local economies, and supporting the environment.

Since 2023, the two clubs have been meeting jointly and in 2024 formally joined as the Rotary Club of Barkingside and Redbridge.
