A message from our president

Our club consists of a mixed age group of 17 persons who meet every Monday evening (except Bank Holidays).

The meetings are informal light-hearted affairs where we have a meal and enjoy an entertaining outside speaker or discuss and approve ideas for future activities or donations. 

We support local good causes through our Charity Fund, whether as an individual with an idea that merits financing, or as a group or person in need of financial support, for whatever reason.  To build up the Charity Fund, and enable us to continue this community support, we run fund-raising activities which are advertised locally.

Other events are not fund raisers but provide a service to the local community, such as our Annual Senior Citizen's party and a Know Your Blood Pressure testing session in Uckfield High Street.

We offer an annual award in memory of Daniel Gamble, a member of the Parachute Regiment from Uckfield killed in action in Afghanistan in 2008.  This is known as the Making Dreams Come True award which offers up to £1,000 to a local person aged 16-25 to help them achieve their 'dream'.  Similarly we give a bursary to a student from Uckfield College who has demonstrated during their time at the College, not only an academic, sporting or artistic capability, but excellence within the local community.  The successful candidate is voted for by the students themselves.

We have an active social side and aim to have fun and enjoy all that we encompass.  A contribution by all members to the success of our club and the projects we support or promote is actively encouraged and we hope you will find what we do interesting.
