The Rotary Club of Hastings again played host to a group of 20 children from Deptford, London. This trip was initially set up between Deptford and Hastings Rotary Clubs; the organisation from the Deptford end is now undertaken by a local Church Group
The programme as usual commenced at Clambers Play Centre where the children enjoyed hurtling around all of the activities. Once we had all had lunch we drove to the Blue Reef Aquarium. Following a welcome by our very own Hastings Town Mayor the children and helpers spent an absorbing hour observing everything from rays to sharks. Then it was all aboard the miniature railway which took us all to the Flamingo Amusement Park with a range of attractions and rides including a dodgems and other fairground thrills. The children shared the many tokens which all too soon were spent. Finally we all enjoyed a picnic near the beach before the trek back home.
It was a wonderful day out for us all and I am sure that the children will have fond memories of Hastings.
